Research Projects

Our research primarily focuses on educational contexts of development in culturally and socio-economically diverse populations of children. We are interested in the role of parents, teachers, and others in shaping the academic lives of children. We are interested in the areas of reading, math, and self-regulation/approaches to learning. More recently, we have begun to explore science and writing. Although our focus is typically PreK-3, we have studied children from infancy (see Article) to college aged students (see Poster or Presentation).

Our primary interest is in conducting research that helps to promote the academic success of all children. See tabs to the left for descriptions of ongoing and past research projects.
